In September 2017, I was privileged to be watching the streets of Frankfurt with esteemed photo journalist, Bruno Barbey. The charismatic and acclaimed Barbey, who is from the first generation of magnum photographers, had plenty of cherished stories to tell to celebrate the opening of Passages, in the reputable photographic institution that is the Frankfurt Fotografie Forum. The retrospective exhibition, which also celebrates the release of the book covering Barbey’s “The Italians” to his work with refugees and momentous events, is both delightful and moving. Both the huge cannon of photographic works and his charisma, made for a thoroughly inspirational photographic weekend.
Heres some of the photos that took during the workshop.
